Red-White Web 2.0 - The buttons are nice. The search bar looks like a candy bar. The color combination is good. A template true to its name.

S08 - A blue color body on a darker blue background - you might have thought it won’t work? But here it is.

Vertical - As a the name suggests, this is a vertically designed clean template. You might want to throw in some more code and utilize the space below the blog title better.

Web 2.0 - A black and white template with a slight touch of blue color on the blog logo and the RSS feed.

3-column templates

Andreas4 - Another popular Wordpress template by Andreas cloned for Blogger. The template can be used as a bare bone structure for customization.

Autumn Grass - I like the color combination and the vertical menu links in the header. There is also sufficient space there for ads and videos.

Beautiful Red Apple - Another nice Wordpress theme converted into a Blogger template, has a 940px width frame, lots of space and customization possibilities.

Butterfly Magic - Another beautiful color combination, or shall we call it just another butterfly effect

Clean Elegant - Here’s one for all you Photoshop lovers, though we could do without the Adsense ad box, which spoils the whole meaning of the template.

Columnas - This theme’s peculiar design stands out from the rest of the templates in this list. Nice and clean.

Cultivado - Neat, floral, elegant - this one’s perfect for writing on life, philosophy, thoughts, poetry, love and the like.

Dark Ritual - A nice theme which somehow reminds us of Adams Family.

Erudite - A neat three-column Blogger template with the black color header and the orange color RSS icon gelling well.

Fluid Solution - Another cool black and white look.

Fresh Blogger Template - A fresh looking (it really is) green and blue theme. Great usability.

Garland - Drupal’s default look copied to Blogger. Soothing to the eyes, isn’t it?

Glow - If Hellboy or Flash Gordon wanted to blog, this is one template they might like.

Green Marinee - A long time favorite of many bloggers ported to Blogger. Great use of space, and a nice color combination.

Hemingway - A beautiful dark template - one column for the post body and three column on the footer.

Illacrimo - A beautiful clone for Blogger from the Wordpress theme Illacrimo, though I feel there should be a way to use more space currently taken by the date-display on the left of the screen.

Informativo - A similar template to the Columnas template above but with the header, for the less-unconventional bloggers who wants to stick with the proven.

Likewise v1.1 - A clean white template with one column for the post and with three column footer on a black background.

Magazine-Style - A nice template if you have a lot of information and widgets to display up front. It has got a three columns in the main area as well as in the footer area.

Minimalista - Another great port from Wordpress to Blogger.

Minyx 2.0 - A great template without pictures; good use of available space.

Pink Flower - A simple and elegant template with an image of, you guessed it, a pink flower.

Pizza - Don’t be dissuaded by the pizza theme if you are thinking of using this for a different subject blog. The template is highly customizable. The unique element in this template is the header which has been divided into two parts. You can display your blog logo or tittle on the left-side header box while using the other box for whatever you like.

Pro - A different-look search box, menu links above the blog title, and the graduated blue header background in a unique design makes this template unique.

Puerto - Somehow this template makes the post body look grand and majestic.

The Hobbit - If you are a fan of Tolkien, this one is for you.

Neo - A 3 column template that reloads in parts allowing faster reading and surfing.

4-column templates

Slined Mod 2.0 - Somehow, this one seems to fit a music/gaming theme best.

Neosapian - The contrast between black and red is striking. The second right-hand sidebar can be widen further and the red header can be used subtly for ads or to display more information. You decide whether to change the current header image or not

Qwilm - A simple looking great design that can be customized to a great extent.

Microsoft Windows 7 Operating System

After reading a few articles, there were a lots of pro and cons for the new upcoming version of Windows 7 operating system from Microsoft. I'm personally, as long as I'm not test it yet, I cannot give any review.

Currently, I'm still fit with XP, because Vista is disappointed me in the first place, slow, heavy graphical load, annoying UAC (User account control) and etc etc. Ok enough with the Vista.

I'm expecting the OS that will fit easily with the standard setup and configuration of minimum hardware requirement.

Whew! Right now you’re thinking, “Six Editions! How can that possibly be simpler than Vista?”. Well, in many ways you’re right, but the editions are better than before, and for a lot of users it’s likely going to come down to just two choices. Let’s take a brief look at each.

Starter

This is probably the closest thing to a “Netbook Edition” Microsoft will go. They needed a flavor of Win7 in this market or it would be either XP forever or cede it to Linux. Neither was acceptable, of course, so they have an edition available globally for this purpose.

Its restrictions (e.g., “you can run only three applications at once”) virtually ensure no one will put it on anything other than a low-power netbook, which is just how MS wants it (i.e., you want more, you pay more). Further, it’s for new PCs only (no retail box), so MS isn’t too worried about non-netbook machines making do with this version.

Remember that Microsoft says Win7 has a small enough footprint for Home Premium (or others) to run fine on a netbook. However, I suspect the license price of those editions would keep many netbooks from being “affordable,” a major selling point of that market. Obviously, Microsoft would have no issue with this, but I think Starter is necessary so that truly low-cost netbooks could go with a “modern” Microsoft OS.

Home Basic

This is where Microsoft gets tricky, or greedy, or whatever you want to call it. You need to read towards the end of Paul’s article to even see this one, as he calls it “hidden.” Unlike Starter, this will not be available globally, but rather only in “emerging markets.” I think this is Microsoft-speak for “low-cost PC markets that would otherwise pirate another edition.”

Why not just use Starter for this purpose? I think Microsoft wants to wring every buck they can get out of this. While Home Basic will have to be cheap, I suspect it’ll grab a few more bucks than Starter, which MS targets for netbooks only.

Home Premium

This is one for new PCs and retail box sales. Unlike Starter and Basic, it comes with Aero and most of the other cool visuals/features everyone’s heard of. The features left out of this edition the average user is not likely to miss.

Professional

Best thing about this is the name. Yes, calling your software or hardware Pro is the oldest trick in the book, and is more for appealing to the ego of the user than anything else. But it sure beats the heck out of Business as a name.

It also makes sense from a feature standpoint, as Pro includes everything in Home Premium, and then adds, well, “pro” features like Domain Join, Remote Desktop host and Presentation Mode. Like Premium, this edition will be available in retail box and new PCs. Expect “high-end” PCs to come with Pro. It just sounds better. It’ll likely be a pretty popular BTO upgrade as well.

Enterprise

Obviously, a huge market for Microsoft and a way to give discounts to this customer base. Enterprise is basically Ultimate but with volume licensing. You won’t see it on new commercial PCs or in retail boxes.

Ultimate

You see? Even “pros” don’t get everything. I think Ultimate is yet another money grab to wring every last dime outta their market. It’s basically Pro “plus.” Included are such must-haves as BitLocker and Branch Cache.

Ultimate will be available at retail and on new PCs, but the feeling is that it’ll likely just be there as a BTO upgrade option on PCs. Ultimate: When Only Everything Will Do.

Password protected a shared folder Windows XP

If you want to password protect shared folders on your network, you may notice that Windows XP does not have any built in feature that allows you to lock the access to the folder through the Windows password as previous releases did. This means that anyone with the same workgroup or domain can access your shared files folder.

The good news is that there is way that seems to do the trick, and only involves making a password for the guest account. Since access to shared folders on the network using a guest account, the password for the guest account is set, users in the network workgroup or domain must include a valid username and password for access to the guests together in the folder and contents.

Password protecting a shared network folder:

1. Log into Windows XP as an Administrator


2. Click Start -> Control Panel -> User Accounts, then click on Guest Account and make sure it is turned on



3. Now Click Start -> Run, type cmd in the entry box, and click Ok


4. At the command prompt, type Net user guest password and press Enter


5. Again, Click Start -> Control Panel -> User Accounts, then click on Guest Account
   
   
   Notice that you can now set a password on the Guest Account. Set a Password and restart your Computer

Now, when a person tires to access your shared folder, they will be prompted for a username and password to continue. Use the username "Guest" and "password" you have set to access the password protected shared folders from your network.

Proton Exora Prestige Concept

This is the other concept Proton Exora which Proton Design whipped up in conjunction with the Exora’s launch. The Proton Exora Prestige converts the Exora into a VIP chauffeured car with a lounge behind where one can either continue to work on the move or relax on the way home after a stressful day.

In the interior, the first row is separated from the rest of the vehicle via a glass panel to give the boss at the back some privacy. The rear passenger can communicate with the driver via an intercom. This privacy glass panel includes a 19 inch LCD TV.

The VIP seats have electric adjustments, a massage system, and a built-in working table. Other creature comforts include a nice sound system including two 8 inch subwoofers to match the 5.1 channel DVD player, a stow-away footrest and a cooler box.

Final Exam, Student and Work

Ok I feel kind of relief today because final exam is ended. But wait, there is a lots of work in queue, marking, report/result, MQA document, preparation for next sem subject, open registration, bla bla bla than "bila boleh cuti?".

I just finished 2nd round check with paper Network Admin, so far so good, nobody failed, and the worst grade is C, I still curious why there is no one get below C, this is so unusual...I guess I know, this sem I'm teaching only a single group of sem 4 student, and this particular group I consider it as fun group. They give a good commitment towards subject only a few person out of focus. I love to teach them once again next sem if I'm allow to.

The waiting paper need to be done is Integrated Network Services, a nightmare final sem subject. I admit it, a tough subject ye ker?, need a good focus and good fundamental in network computing especially data communication concept and computer network.I just finished marking the 10 objective question, the highest so far is six out of ten. So I can predict there is something bad will happen to this subject. In fact there is one student afraid to take the final exam and he had a single quiz turned in without any single answer. What a nightmare, just hope for the best from this group. I dont want to talk about the 2 groups of student that attend this subject, "nanti kata saya mengumpat le plak".

BUT...I still need to find the ample time to have some rest, I hope people will understand between work and family, so that I can spare my time with the love one. The works as usual will come and go but always followed from one to another. I dont have any ultimatum, take it or leave it.....

update: both of my subjects is under control, meaning, only few is failed....

Setelah Sebulan

A month passing by just like that, click here click there here he is in his month of age, sapa lagi, my new baby boy la. During that period, I guess it's about 4 times , we bring him to clinic, jaundice, sneezing, high fever, skin itching, sour throat, diarrhea, mmmm thats all I guess, pity boy , too many illness in too little age.

A lot of advice from doc, encourage breast feeding, lactose free milk, ample room temperature, avoid fast ceiling fan, warm water during bath ....bla bla bla....

But, this is another chapter in raising your infant, maklumla it is about 6 years to be back at this mood. But back in the office, wahhh...final exam is cracking my head, I'm not the one who are sitting for the exam, but my students, I repeat again my students will sit for the exam, I'm so worried because they're not perform as I'm expecting they are. So I need to do another test, set a tuning class and do what I can do to help them. This is my first time ever had this kind of nervousness for my student, it's weired isnt it but it is reality. By the way good luck for them.

Ok lets talk about my baby, it's kind of guilty to snap or videoing him while crying, but that precious moment is very hard to resist. So for mums out there, no hard feeling because I do care my kids....hihihi....and here there are the collection of "Wafiq's'
